Nik Translate

Nik Translate makes a WordPress site multilingual without duplicating a single page. Text is read out of the rendered page, translated once, stored in your own database and served from there — a visitor’s request never leaves your server, so an outage anywhere else never changes what your readers see.

AI translation the moment you subscribe

The subscription comes with a starter pack of translation tokens — the same size as the €10 pack — so the plugin translates out of the box, with our AI, and no setup at all. Add a language and, if there are tokens on the account, translation starts on its own: no “Translate” button to hunt for, no provider account, no keys to paste anywhere.

For a small shop or a brochure site that starter pack is enough to translate the whole thing — the subscription on its own is all you need. It is granted once, on your very first purchase; every renewal after that keeps your translations live without spending a token more. Grow into a large catalogue and you can top up whenever you like — the same tokens, bought in bigger packs.

Three ways to translate

  • Our AI, out of the box — no account with any provider, no keys on your site. The starter pack is already there; press “Translate everything” or just add a language, and our model translates your site with the markup, links and placeholders preserved. A translation is paid for once and then served from your database forever.
  • Your own Google Translate key — you create a Google Cloud project, Google bills you directly, and the requests go from your server straight to Google without passing through ours.
  • By hand — the registry, the on-page editor and the language URLs all work without any provider at all.

It keeps translating as visitors browse

A storefront is never one flat page. Filter an attribute, open a product’s tabs, let a block load over AJAX — the new text is translated on the fly from what has already been learned, so a label never flashes up in the wrong language. Anything genuinely new is queued and translated in the background, and served instantly from then on.

A visual editor on the page itself

One button in the toolbar turns the editor on for the page you are looking at, in the language you are looking at it in — no menu, no jumping to another language. Hover the text, click, translate. Headings, buttons, image alt texts and field placeholders are all editable in place, with history and one-click restore. Translators get their own capability — they can edit translations, not your settings.

Whole sentences, not fragments

“Read more about us” is one sentence to a translator, even when a link splits it in three. The plugin sends the sentence with numbered markers instead of markup, and refuses any translation that loses a marker or a placeholder — a broken translation never reaches your visitors.

Search engines get the whole story

  • hreflang with x-default, self-referencing canonicals, translated titles, descriptions and social tags.
  • A sitemap per language, declared in robots.txt. Works through Yoast SEO and Rank Math, or on its own.
  • Keep a language out of the index while its machine translation is being proofread — readers see it, crawlers wait.
  • Translated addresses if you want them: /de/shop/ can become /de/geschaeft/, with the old address answering 301.

WooCommerce built in

The storefront is translated through the page pipeline and WooCommerce’s own language packs. The order remembers the language the customer bought in, and their confirmation emails follow it — your subjects and product names included. Emails to you stay in your language.

Built not to lose your work

  • Language URLs by one filter — no rewrite rules, permalinks never flushed, deactivating returns the site exactly as it was.
  • An expired licence stops new translation but never what is already translated — your pages, URLs and SEO signals stay.
  • Move translations between staging and live as one JSON file, with the same validation as typing.
  • A one-click support report with all secrets removed.

Frequently asked questions

Is the price one-off or a subscription?

If a plugin has a Pro version, the price is always for a subscription. A plugin cannot be written once and forgotten: new versions of WordPress, WooCommerce and PHP keep coming out, third-party APIs change, and the code has to be checked and reworked all the time. The subscription covers a share of that ongoing work and support — it is not paying for the same purchase twice. Free versions stay free forever and need no subscription.

What if it does not suit me — can I get a refund?

Yes. Within 14 days of the first payment we refund in full, no questions asked. Renewals are not refundable, but you can cancel the subscription in your client area at any time — the next charge simply will not happen. Details are in the public offer.

Will the plugin keep working if I do not renew?

The free part of the plugin keeps working — your site will not break and no data is lost. What switches off is the Pro features, updates and support: the licence key stops being confirmed by our server. You can bring it all back at any time by subscribing again for the same domain — your settings stay where they are.

How do I work on a test domain?

You do not need a separate licence for testing. The key is registered for your main domain — say example.com — and works on all of its subdomains: staging.example.com, dev.example.com, test.example.com and any others. Install the plugin on a subdomain and work with the same key. If the site moves to another domain, you can change the licence domain in your client area (no more than once every 30 days).

What does the subscription support include?

Priority replies in the client-area chat and by e-mail, help with installation and setup, diagnosing conflicts with other plugins and themes, fixing bugs in the plugin itself, and every update released during your subscription.

What is not covered by support?

Custom development for your specific tasks, edits to your theme or functions.php, fixing incompatibilities with heavily customised themes and third-party plugins, and general site, hosting or WordPress setup. We do all of that — as separate paid work.

Will the plugin work on my site?

The PHP, WordPress and WooCommerce requirements are listed on every product page. We test our plugins on current versions and on popular themes — compatibility with most of them is complete, but heavily customised or exotic builds cannot be guaranteed. That is exactly why every product has a free version: install it and make sure everything works before paying for Pro.

I need specific functionality — can I order customisation?
